That looks like a prolapse to me. Try and get more fluids in him if possible. Soak him in a warm epson salt bath if possible or necessary if you can't get the prolapse back in. If it comes out again you may need something to make sure that it doesn't come out.

It would be more logical and way less invasive to give fluids via tubing.

Now let us not jump to unnecessary conclusions, she probably was defending herself and she could be an elderly woman.

you really can only defend my mom at the initial swing when she thought he was going to attack her. she’s also only in her late 40s. after she hit him, both her and my dad left him lay for 4 hours in 80 something degree weather.

I know you want to give her the benefit of the doubt, but she isn’t a great person.

I had a hen just yesterday with some egg laying problems do the same thing. Scared the life out of me. She did sort it out herself though.

yeah. that’s what ive been wanting to do.
his vent looks about the same but a little redder. i think he was constipated and was struggling to poop. he got more out during the night, so hopefully that means he’s done and isn’t going to strain anymore. i put preparation h on it and have him some coconut oil, so hopefully that helped

Has he been trying to move around at all? Like to get up or walk or anything like that? I would definitely give him electrolytes (or honey or molasses) in his water, there is something called Nutri-Drench that I’m currently giving to my failure to thrive chick..you can add it to his water or even put a few drops directly into his mouth.
Topical preparation H for the vent or other hemorroidal cream, and push it back in.
My daughter was 15 months old when we drove to Florida and while we obviously stopped a lot, her sitting for long periods sort of impacted her stool and she became constipated. Not fun trying to explain putting KY (all they sold at the gas station) on a screaming toddlers bum, in a gas station restroom in the middle of the night lol
On another note..if he is trying to move around, possibly a visit to his flock would be uplifting for him? He’s also scared and not knowing what’s happening to him so perhaps some normality would help

I'm so very sorry. You took excellent care of him. I believe he may have had internal injuries you had no way of knowing about.
