20 week old silkies

So we are at 30 plus weeks.. and the white one hasn't crowed or laid an egg. She is a riot tho. one giant puffball with a beak.

Good quality Silkies generally take longer to start laying than the hatchery quality ones. She can be well over eight months or even more before she starts to lay! She is beautiful.

35 weeks and no crow or egg

Had to trim her poof because she liked matting up her fluff in mud. Weather here in New England has been screwy this year. small comb and small wattles still. Have caught her walking around the coop during daylight hours so maybe soon!

Her comb is looking pretty red. Should be soon!

I have a satin who is 10 months and still hasn’t laid and egg. I keep waiting but don’t know if it’ll ever happen. She has a sister who hasn’t laid yet either. Your beautiful silkie reminds me of her. Especially the puffball picture.

Baby. Aptly named because she kept putting herself in a corner. Her crest grew back too fast and I was trimming it every other day. I just gave up. Baby sometimes reminds me of an owl. All you can see is her beak.

38 weeks and still no egg

BUT she squatted for me today! So I am pretty confident she is a she

Yay! Got our egg from Poppy today! She took her time but boy did she sing today after she laid. 39 weeks

Congratulations! Some silkies take their own sweet time. Now she will be very noisy and loud like mine!
