20 weeks old, I think we're getting close

:weeSuch an exciting time!! Show us the egg when it finally comes!

I will for sure.

I wonder how long after the first one lays, the others will follow suit. She's the only one out of the four girls we have, that has been squatting, and really interested in the nesting boxes so far. The others are busy eating and rolling around in the dirt. It's hard to have patience. I tell them every day...ok girls time to lay and egg today. I'm having so much fun having chicken pets. I love them.

How long does it typically take for the first egg? I'm just wondering how long is she going to be sitting in the nesting box working on this. Does it typically take hours, days? Is there a point where I should start worrying about her?

Of the spring chicks I got, I had one pullet.. She just turned 23 weeks, but being a Black Sex Link, I may be waiting another week or so. She's at POL based on comb color... just waiting.

She did it! Ginger laid her first egg! It's a beautiful perfect little green/blue egg. She is so happy now. I was starting to worry about her. I'm so proud. The tan one is a fake ceramic egg.
