20 weeks old....still no eggs

20 weeks is actually what I'd consider early for laying, unless it's a sex link. I have some 30 week olds who aren't laying yet and one of the 30 week old pullets just laid her first egg yesterday. My oldest ever to lay didn't start until 40 weeks.

You don't say what you have for birds. With pullets bred especially for their propensity to lay eggs (sex-links, Leghorns . . . ) 20 weeks is about the time to start watching for eggs. Two of the three RSLs is this year's flock started right on that shedule. My DP ladies (BO, BR, WW, BA) will follow in their own time.

Patience.

I feel ya. Mine are 23 weeks. They are getting noisier and are checking out the nesting boxes, but still no squatting. I had other pullets start at 19 and 20 weeks so it is SO HARD to wait and wait and wait for these girls! Everyday I am hopeful...

Don't worry

My pullets did not lay until they were 24 weeks old. I was begining to worry about some of the pullets that still haven't laid any eggs, but they pulled through at 30 weeks.

My youngest chickens just turned 25 weeks and we got one egg (the first!) from them yesterday and two today. We have all Bantams, but they have all started around 24-26 weeks.
