2009 is The Year of the Broodies....and ANOTHER One...(PICS)

Now, we have to try to convince Miss Tuxy that she will not be a mama this time around and she needs to eat and drink and be normal again.

Sounds like you're sending her to therapy for treatment of anorexia

LOL, may have to do that if she gets too skinny!

Yeah. I bought some suet blocks at TSC for mine. Are those good for helping them gain weight? They were only $.99 a block. They had all kinds like Raisin, Peanut, High Energy (better ration that one

I dont know about giving them suet blocks. Not clear on if it's a good idea or not. I think they're made with pure lard.

Glenda's third baby is blue--just checked. Still waiting on the BBS Orp to zip and the last EE egg to pip.

Hatch is complete. The last EE egg had a peep that died somewhere around 15-16 days--thought that's what happened with the shell began to get that dessicated look to it.
The final total is

2 blue barred EEs
1 black barred EE
1 black Orpington

The other broody is on Day 6 with 3 BBS Orps, 3 BRs, 1 BBS Orp and 1 Delaware belonging to my Kira, who was 3 weeks out of the main laying flock when I collected this one, so I'm seeing if my very young Delaware cockerel was fertile a week ago.

Tux is still holding onto hope that eggs or a chick will magically appear under her.
