What about doing cross stitch on the seams with embroidery floss. Would that work?

I find cross stitche can create a nice touch to a lot of things.

I'm probably going to partially pick the dern thing out to get to that seam. I just don't wanna LOOK at it now.

okay...so, i have puff of fluff then...

Yes, your favorite color

. My plan is to try to get each person to do a block in their favorite color (shades) or colors and then I will attempt to do kind of a picture frame around each one (I am not sure what it is called, but I like the effect), with my favorite color and then sew it all together. And if I pray real hard, it will work and I will have a wonderful friendship quilt of many colors.

That sounds wonderful, Puff of Fluff!

Ok, well, I did make a block tonight, but I'm not completely happy with it. I think I'm going to try to get somewhere to get some better fabric. Most of the pastels I had came from my great aunt and they were kind of thin and they unraveled a bit at the edges (and even though I was careful cutting them, they still didn't come out quite right. Grrr... that's my fault though!).

But, I'm going to post the block anyway so Arabookworm can tell me if she even liked the concept I went for.

Here it is. It's called Fading Star. The pattern shows it being done in shades of one color, but I chose to go from pink to peach to pale yellow, to sea green to light blue (the picture doesn't show the colors well). Arabookworm, seriously, if you hate it, let me know. I have to make another block anyway, so this is your chance to let me know your opinion.

YAAA! I get to play too!!!

My choice would be for the person making the block to make it in their favorite color (shades) or colors please .

I need to know what type of thread do I use? I have hand quilting 100% cotton, for some hand sewing I have been working on, but I read somewhere it should not be used in a sewing machine. And to me it would not make scene to use polyester on this project. So I am kind of lost for the moment

.

So far I have seen some very nice blocks on here. I want to know how many years do I have to be doing these before I can produce something as nice as the completed one on post #267? That is very nice Jody did it take long to make?

Very pretty Acre!!!! Gonna get my daughter's White sewing machine out of the garage this weekend and overtake half the dining room table! Hope to get mine done too although I have to wash my fabric first..not showing it either..a surprise for MomofDrew!!!
