#1California Chick :

WHOA!!!

I read the first couple of posts about the Quilt of the month. Then I fixed dinner, watched a little TV with my daughter and when I checked back --- 26 pages of response!!!!! I have NOT read all the entries (it could grow to 30 before I am even done!!!).

I would like to participate!!! I am happy to produce a 12.5 inch square. I don't care what colors are in the square I receive!!! Chicken prints would be great!!!

The response is SO overwhelming, I am sure that you will have to re-think how you are going to do this!! Let me know if you need help!!!

Cindy

PS I LOVE your chick that is PIC of the Week!! -- My daughters did the "AAHH" thing when they saw it!!!

Welcome aboard. We would be glad to have you also. Please PM me your addy. Thanks

yall make it sound like I demanded a bad thing! I just want to be able in 5 years to remember exactly who did which square. (hey, I dont remember everything, and most that I do gets confused bumping around all my cobwebs in my head)
I'll know what the quilt was from, but not who did which one, and to me, that's more important. If you dont want to put your name or make a tag to put on, I'll do it myself, but it might ruin the work you did on your square. As in, I do have a fabric marker, and I do know how to spell!

That's O.K. I have been planning to get some labels and all you did was reminded me through the cobwebs in my brain

Gonna order some today. I actually found another site that has the iron on labels for $6.95 for 50 of them. Not to shabby of a deal if you ask me.

That's why God gave us seam rippers and extra fabric. Also, if you don't want to take it apart you can do an old quilter's trick of putting a tiny applique over it. A simple little heart shape can cover a lot and dress up any block. Once I had put a ton of work into an attic windows quilt for DD. While quilting a piece got caught in my quilting frame and tore a tiny hole. I just about had a seizure. I fixed it by putting a lady bug applique over the tear. Now it looks like there is a bug crawling on the window.

Can you spot the bug?

Wow thats awesome Jody! I'm going to have a closer look and perhaps fix this block if it doesn't mess with the lining up of the strips. if not perhaps I'll have a try at applique - I've never done that before

..so..does anyone know what i meant about the Yo-Yo block?...i have a Yo-Yo quilt and it is beautiful!....thats why i was wondering if i could make a yo-yo type block to send....but...i'm not sure if it will look okay with a quilt with a backing....any input?..thanks..

I know what a Yo Yo quilt is. They are often used as decorative throws rather than bed quilts because they aren't quite as sturdy.

ETA: Yo-yo's make really appliques on regular blocks
