2009 Quilt block of the month - February

Hey all I got me a new iron. My daughter picked it up for me and I gladly gave her the $20. It is a Rowenta Power Duo DX 6650. She said she seen it a few weeks ago at Joann's it was $79.99 marked down to 39.97 and when a got to the counter there was an extra 50% off of the red tag clearance. I have wanted a Rowenta for years Yah. My kids must be growing up they are starting to think of me and my likes, I got a set of Rachel Ray 10 piece cookware from the 4 of them for Christmas as well. Made up for all those years I just got a Merry Christmas. Had to share.

Also batting by the yard is on sale Warm and Natural and Warm and White Cotton Batting by the yard Reg $10.99 now $5.49 a yard. Keepsake Calico Prints are 50% off sale prices $1.49 to $4.99 a yard (this is a really good deal) This sale is Jan 11th thru Jan 17th. Hope this helps. There is also 40% off some quilting supplies and 2 50% off of regular price coupons. This is in store but web sales are usally just as good.

Oh by the way this is my test I made a mistake on the eyes but I was trying things out.... other than the wrinkle would you be disapoitned?

Heck NO! I wouldn't be dissapointed at all, I would love something like that. This isn't a contest on skill level, it's supposed to be a fun thing. It's the thought behind the square that counts. Knowing that it was made in friendship makes it special. I can't wait to see what everybody does with their squares to make their quilts.

Sure hope you're right because I might be considered advanced in crochet and about ten other crafts but in quilting I am barely in the beginner section!!! What an awesome quilt, or two or three depending on how long this effort continues, would be incredible with the different skill levels, I really like the thought of it!! I'm thinking a pretty jelly roll and sew the squares together, muslin on the back and keepsakes!!! Awesome work everyone!!!

Is there an etiquette for sending a quilt block or is this acceptable? No kidding, not really sure, lol!! I do have a label in the bag too, alredy have those...http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc150/Scrambled_Egg/yard/HPIM9781.jpg

Darleen is that for ME!!???

The cheery cherry one? Yes, ready to come your way! Not the dark goth one, sending that to Nightmare on Skand street so she can make Hippy Jim a do rag out of it, lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sign me up twice too please, I have alot of fat quarters, even without Zoo tempting me (and yes I continue to feel like I am cheating on yarn) but I think I can handle two a month, and my crocheting projects, and my soap making, and my pottery class, and my fleece throws, and various other projects and a full time job and family.....please send medication fast, I am really crazy!!!! I am looking forward to Dennis' block too and I get the first one!!!!lol!!!!!!!!!

Nightmare on Skand street? that is just too funny!! Thanks, Jim does need a new 'do rag. lol Love ya bunches SE!!!

I thought you were to cut fabric with a pair of sissors, after looking at the Rotary one, I will just use a Utility Knife with a new blade, I think that should work.

Edited because I overquoted

Utility knives can put huge gauges in your cutting mat.
