2009 Quilt block of the month - February

All I did was touch the edge of the blade on mine and it cut my finger good.
They are really sharp so any one who has never had one, PLEASE keep them away from children, PLEASE.

Both of my thumbs have scars where they were cut to the bone with rotary cutters, but that's because I'm a klutz. Now I use those little sandpaper dots on the corners of my cutting rulers to help hold the rulers stable while I cut.

I fully intend to make an obnoxious block when I make one for Marlin later this year.

I have made 2 blocks. One for Portagegirl that I posted earlier and this one I made for Chevygirlbeth for the next month.

I won't get any further ahead of myself just in case somebody drops out.

I want one of those, Jody, when you get to my name. I love those

colors and those prints! Please please please.

Button, I love your block so much. Could you make me one when you

get to my name? I really like it. Would it help if I begged too?

I've just realized, guys, that I like every block I've seen so I would

like my preferences changed to anything, any color, any anything.

I just got the last ruler/rotar cutter at Walmart. I can't wait to try it.

I hope everyone who has been puny feels better this week.

Sorry, but I don't think our names are close enough to eachother on the list. I'm all out of the brown fabric. If Chevygirlbeth doesn't want it, I'll make her something else and send it to you.

AK_Button_Mama, Your Grandmother's Flower Garden is BEAUTIFUL!!!

I can't believe you are hand piecing it. I was that ambitious when I was younger. I developed rheumatoid arthritis when I was 40 and have had to rely on my machine ever since.

I had an all day pity party about it once and now just thank God All Mighty that I have the use of my hands at all. (Focusing on what they CAN do and not what they can't!)

The old quilt that I made into a valance for my daughter's room is made of what looks to me like 30's fabric. I love vintage fabric.

Thanks for sharing the photo of your lovely HAND STITCHED quilt!

Deb

It will probably be the most fun to make. I'm planning mine as well.
