**2009 Quilt Block Swap for JUNE**

Thank you SE but really you dont understand... the middle seam is badly puckered and the size is off. When I showed it to DH he said "if I squint real hard, it looks great".

It needs the middle seam ripped out and the edges trimmed and a border included to bring it up to size. I just cant do that block anymore right now or I am going to end up finding the nearest fire and pitching it in. Elven can have it if she really wants it but I am at least going to make another one so she can choose. I will have a pic of the new one up tonight. I feel terrible that I am making her wait.

17roses I love the colors you used in your block. I use a lot of what DH calls loud colors. The pattern looks a little hard but I like it what is it called? I bet its one of those things that when you try to do the block later you"ll think so that is what I was doing wrong, then it will seem simple (I hope)

I used two 6" Ohio Star - Obviously I changed the color sceme to change the way it looks.

I used two 6" Gentleman's Fancy blocks.

So I sort of made it up with 6" blocks.

17 Roses...definitely a difficult block. Beautiful color choices with the butterfly.
I bet Elven could come up with a very creative way to use your blocks.

If you really want to start over then
Why not do one of the 6 inch blocks as a 12 inch? I find making a 6 inch or 9 inch block larger, helps me figure out the process of building the block and helps me match points better. Then when I make them smaller, I've already worked out the kinks.

Here's a thought.....separate the four 6 inch blocks. Add your border fabric as narrow sashing between the blocks and then if it still is not to size of 12.5 you could add a narrow border to the outside.
With the bright colors, I'd use black to really make things pop....the butterfly has black.

Here's another. Again take the four 6 inch apart. Border one with a 1 inch color border of a black, gold or brown from the butterfly. Then add a border of each the purple and the green to make it the correct size. (You can do the same with the others to use for yourself.)

Thanks Acre, I am sure with your skill yours will look great. Nanakat you are full of helpful tips and tricks. I appreciate it but as I said before, I have given up entirely on that block. I admit defeat, I picked a design above my skill level. So...

Elven it is up to you. Do you want my failed attempt block or the block underneath that is an easy one but I like it.

Heck, You are right SE! After all I did make her wait. Maybe she wants to take on the challenge and the two blocks do match. Of course maybe she doesnt want the defective block. Elven? Do you?
