I have a question. When we are making our blocks, can we add embellishments to them such as sequins or rhinestones, provided they are securely placed on them?

I ask this, because some of the blocks I have been researching are animal shapes and I was thinking of things like those wobbly eyes to put on them.

Acres, I owe you an apology for my little hizzy fit yesterday. Yesterday was a horrible day for me, lot's of personal family issues came up regarding my brother and one of my nephews. I am sorry that you wound up catching the brunt of them.

Haven't done yours yet Cedar, it is cut out though, it's paths and stiles? something like that, gonna be pretty though I think. Nanakat, you have a dresden plate and I will have to say it is my favorite so far of all the blocks!! It's a nice combination of piecing and applique (which I really favor the most) and I think it turned out really nicely!!!! I hope you like it...send me your address and I'll drop it in the mail next week. It was much easier to me than little teeny squares and rectangles!!! I seem to have less trouble with the triangles and this was even easier than those with the fan pieces (I did buy the Zimmerman plastic Dresden template and that helped me cut straight pieces) but I WILL be doing more of the dresden...top of my list right now!! Cedar, send me your info too and I'll have yours out next week too, I think you'll like it too

I didn't see anything in the OP about embellishments to the blocks, is that a no-no or is it okay to add something special to the block?

As far as my choices, blues and earthtones or farm theme for me.

I would consider that you ask the one you are sending the block(s) to, and make sure they don't have small children that could possibly pull them off.

One of my kids died in my arms choking on a bead, she's alive today....Praise GOD!!!!! I personally would tell you NO if they were coming to my house.....I hate beads.
