i have seen shows on tv about 2012. its scary. i dunno. i have my thoughts and they are much too long to type.

I believe it is open to interpretation it is just like the bible you have different interpretations by different people. JMO So do i think the world is gonna end simple NOPE because if they could have predicted the future they would still be alive simple enough. So i dont think it is worth a hill of beans the bible has predicted the end for thousands of years so we will wait and see
 
The heat of the inner earth pushes the oil up under the non-porous rock building up pressure. Hence when the drill goes thru the non-porous rock into the porous rock where the oil under pressure is contained the oil pushes up and out thru the drill pipe.
The oil is contained within the microscopic pores of the porous rock, the structure of the rock itself is unchanged after the oil is removed. Now in other types of drilling, like fracturing the consequences underground can be much different because the oil or gas filled porous rock is fractured under high pressure to release the resource. In that circumstance the rock structure is destroyed and perhaps become a danger for the afore mentioned problems.

Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs on what will happen. My own opinion is I throw the 2012 doomsday belief along with the Y2K, the Bird Flu pandemic or any of the other things blown out of proportion by the media to instill fear and uncertainty in minds that may not be informed accurately about the situation. Sorry but I try not to drink the preverbial "koolaid" when it comes to conspiracy theories.

time out... this was supposed to be fun, now people are getting irritable... if I have to spray my can of liquid prozac on the screen again I will... take a deep breath... relax...

The fact is regardless of scientific beliefs/proof, knowledge, past history, mayan calendars, religious beliefs and literature or the voices in my head... the sad reality is that NO ONE really knows where, when OR how... we need to all deal with it...

No back to those terribly chic sprinting bloody thirsty zombies...
 
When I was about 9 years old, I saw my first TV show about the ancient South American land drawings, of people and animals, that could only be appreciated from above, like from a plane or space ship. The immediate (incorrect) conclusion was that that was exactly what it was all about. Art for aliens.

Humans have been making maps since before we could do anything but poke food, with sticks, to kill it.

Have a child make you a map, then think about the only way you could see what the child drew....

From above. I'll be darned. Some humans are smart. As soon as someone is old enough to imagine something that is not there, they can draw you a map of something, as seen from above. Even though, there is nowhere on earth you can go and see what the map shows!

We have a process, at work, that takes days to perform. At any step, if you are off, by even the slightest bit, you ruin the whole batch and it cannot be saved. It's three days of watching this kettle and changing temperatures at the right time and adding liquids, incredibly slowly and changing pH at just the right speed.

The finished product is super cool and we are the only people in the world, that make it. What I want to know is who figured this out, in the first place? I think someone knew the end result and put it all together in their head first. It's amazing, every time we do it.

Some people are smart. Some people are off the scale.

(my actual reply) I think that everyone should stop worrying about the world ending! Really, we will all die before the world ENDS. It's ben going strong for ZILLIONS and ZILLIONS of years- why would it stop then?
