First of all, my bachelor's degree is in history and Spanish. That being said, I have obviously studied Mesoamerican Indian culture & history in some depth.

Now the Maya calendar has ended FOUR TIMES already! And guess what? The earth is still here. According to astronomers, we have already lined up with the center of the galaxy. Short of a black hole or asteroid whacking, I can't foresee any major disaster.

I think it would be extremely important to have a very, very large party starting on December 30 2011, and ending 'Whenever'.

Eat as much as possible, drink as much as possible, tell your boss off, empty out your checking account buying frivolities, moon the post man, and just in case the world does NOT end, be sure to be ready to apologize to everyone involved.

Took me forever to dig the Y2K bombshelter and stock it, then the bird flu "thing" - do you have any idea how long it took to wrap that plastic around our place and make that sterile bubble. So what's up with this one floods? Anybody have any nice treehouse plans????
