2014 breeding season begins, post your results

Maybe the darker eggs are peahens since darker peachicks are normally peahens.

Just joking!
Just curious, is this referring to my comment about the of all the darker chicks that I hatched from my Pea quad last season turning out to be Hens?

If you're bored, read this if you haven't already:

Yah, I read thru that entire thread and a few others before I started posting here on the PF forum again. Got a lot of good laughs reading the sexing thread (and that's why I told you to put that stick away the other day, before someone took it away from you and spanked you with it, lol).

While doing a ton of reading here on the PF forum trying to figure out how I ended up hatching Pied (Dark Pied) Peachicks with a copy of the White Eye gene out of my quad of normal looking IBs, I stumbled across a few posts from other breeders that have also hatched darker (IB) Peachicks that ended up being Hens and lighter (IB) Peachicks that ended up being males. Nice to know you've seen the same thing in your hatches too and that I'm not the only Peabrain (lol) to have made this observation.

The Pied gene, the White Eye gene and even the little bit of Spalding blood in my quad may also be playing a big role in my Peachick colors too tho. And maybe my hatching results were completely random last season, but it will be interesting to see if I get the same results this season

Peeps, I have a 100% looking barred winged IB,,his mother was an IB Black Shoulder split to Charcoal,,and his father was a Charcoal pied ,,2 copies of w/e,,he does not show a throat patch,or any white feathers on him, just looks 100% barred wing ib,,,good thing for wingbanding and accurate records,or he would have went bye-bye yesterday

Lots of chicks for birdbrain to sex, lol. I had to work last night, so didn't have time to find a broody and set mine... maybe today I will.

Kathy, candled my first 6 eggs last night, none was good but many were laid within the first days of moving the birds to the outside breeding pens.I didn't expect too much but the second weeks worth of eggs I'm hoping for much better,,,not one bullseye in any of them I put in the bator on the 13h

No I do think in general the darker chicks are peahens (unless if you are dealing with Spalding or green chicks since those chicks are normally darker anyways). The joking part was just that dark eggs = peahens. I was just being silly about that part.
