2014 New York Chickenstock

So I've closed my guineas in for the past two night and not let them out until the afternoon and I haven't gotten a single egg! Stupid birds. As soon as I let them out they run to wherever they have made nest and lay an egg.

Hopefully they start getting the idea and laying in the coop. I've found most of their nests, but I'm sure there are still some I haven't found. It's like Easter every day here. My niece was here yesterday and she had a blast going around finding eggs.

that's how I feel with my two female ducks that stopped laying 2 weeks ago. I kept them both in their duck house today, fed them their food and water in there and not an egg from either! I don't understand. I'm going to keep doing it until I get an egg just to be sure they're not laying elsewhere.

My EE hen isn't laying, but when I mention on here that she is heading for dinner, I magically get a blue egg for a couple days. Then back to nothing for 2 weeks or more. Silly birds.

This is a first for me with the ducks. I had been getting 3 eggs a day for weeks since they picked up laying this year. Then boom, down to 1 for the last two weeks. I can see if one laid on some days and the other on other days or they went broody, or were molting but for them BOTH to stop like that and the blue runner is still laying? Weird! I want to keep them locked up for a couple of days because someone mentioned they may be laying elsewhere since I was taking their eggs. I'm not home 24/7 to watch them wander about to see where they may be laying so this is my only option really.

i will have eggplant (purple beauty) green zebra tomato, and pepper (sweet cherry blend, purple beauty, and serrano chili) all organic seeds and dirt :) starts to sell but will only bring what is preordered  they are huge have been going for about 2 1/2 moths now. $3 each if interested

Please put me on ur list for 2 eggplant plants & 2 green tomatoes. I didn't get a chance to do seeds this year either. Thank you!!!

Ugh. I just peaked at the google list. So many wonderful birds available. Must stay strong...

I have some extra mutt chicks if anyone wants some. Parents are good layers. Mostly red mixes. I have extra boys as well. Barred rock (mix) and reds. Let me know if you are interested.

Kept the ducks in yesterday while the others free ranged, I didn't get any eggs from either but I did get one this morning! They'll stay in another day or two until I start getting two from them again. Guess maybe they were laying elsewhere??

Just passed my first NPIP testing...

Does anyone else bother w NPIP if you are not showing your birds? I figured it would be good to have if I am selling eggs/chicks.... But then I realized we cannot get chicks/eggs from sources that are not npip certified....

I was thinking about it, but I wasnt sure if it was worth it. What are the requirements? my neighbors are all getting into this to and i want to sell hatching eggs someday in the future but probably not this year or next.
