Ok. Let me add up how many chicks /birds I want, so far. Ut oh. I can't remember what I said I wanted. oops. (Guess I just bring lots of money and several boxes )

Can you sex them from birth if you have a trio of same birds or is this one of those instances of having to put one breed roo over a different breed of hen?

They are auto sexing no need for a differnt breed roo or hen. That would be sexlinks where you link two differnt breeds.

ohohoh....if that is true, Sonew123 I want a trio. Seriously, I am soooo tired of waiting to find out if it is a roo or not. (And I ALWAYS guess wrong and give away the hens and grow out the darn crowerers. Got 7 down there right now making the hens insane)

I need to start my flock all over. I did it all wrong. First I got some sweet banties. Still have one of them. She is the sweetest and I promised Ray I would keep her for her life. Then I got some "pure bred" Ameruacanas and an OE. Well, they all stink. The Lav hens don't lay for beans and but the roos are wonderful. Love the roos. And the OE lays well, but her name is "mean Marge", need I say more? Then Annie gave me WAAAAAAAAAAY more chicks than I really needed. No clue what breed they are any more....but the one I wanted? The Astrolorp? Well, she died right about the time she should have started laying. Then the Sumatras? They were supposed to live in the trees. They don't. They are the first in the coop at night, first out in the morning. And of course my Mutts. They are my best layers. So, I guess I can't get rid of them and start over...but I really really would like to have birds that I can breed and know what I have from first hatch, so I stop raising all these roos.

Wouldnt we all ...7 Roos how many Hens do you have ?
So what would you do at hatch if you knew it was a roo ? Not raise it or not get attached ?

Since I don't cook I was curious if anyone would be interested in some DinoBBQ food if I had my husband put something together that I could pick up on my way there? I'll have to ask him what would be best and easiest to bring, like Wings? Ribs? But if I could get some recommendations from anyone interested that would help too.

I think Pulled Pork for Sandwiches would great . It may have to be heated somehow ..Love those !

They will be only a few days old when I bring the CCLS...THANK you for the correction they ARE autosexable not sex linked I always mistakenly say that!! Meaning you can mate brothers mothers father sisters and they all still produce sexable chicks at hatch!!! Waited a long time to get these and didnt ever think I would...Tabs chickenstock is the only place I will let chicks go the rest stay with me!!! I have 14 in bator now and 3 under a broody and collecting more as we speak...

I sell them by the pair and you can purchase extras pullets to go with BUT you have to at least take a roo ( do with the poor bugger what you will but it makes my job as the executioner much easier this way)

Or you can go through GFF and pay 59$ for a day old female and 29$ for a day old roo!! Lol

You can get a sense of the color of eggs with these photos??? You can make Olive eggers with the roo as well!!! I am I have marans in with my roo as well and Im starting to incubate them to see the funkiness of the chicks!!

Cass that is the reason I tried so hard to get these!!!! I was tired of spending all the money raising birds for months only to find out half are roos!!! Yes eating them is one thing but to spend 40$ A roo to eating age is not my option anymore!! I bit the bullet and got these WELL WORTH IT FOLKS!!!!
Nothing more exciting then watching babies hatch and saying..." Ahhh another pullet...ooooh and another...and another....!!!! Yippy e
