2014 New York Chickenstock

Thinking of adding some started Orpington chicks to my list of things for sale. Would anyone be interested in in any Blue Orps if they hatched about 4-5 weeks from now. They'd be about 2 weeks old around the time of the picnic.

I miss the orps but if I want to improve my marans, CR's and Dels I have to keep the room.

Bought some wheels on sale at TSC and the thought is to turn this into a tractor for the Ducks. It will of course mean redesign but it should work for whatever ducks I keep.

Sorry I hope the rain stops ...

You can have some ...rose of Sharon ..I dont know how many ..I will put you on my list for some
Free or if anyone has a plant to trade ..Im open to that too.

:) thank you, once I survey a bit in the spring I will know more, but I will have some lilac saplings, hostas, and some veg starts I could trade

I have some too. Very easy to grow, though I did have one die on me for some reason.  Started out with 2 when we moved and now have 6 or so.  Not to mention all the seedlings I tear out each year.  I really need to get some Blues.

Woke up to find the wife not here.  My grandson has the Croup, whatever that is.  DD and hers took him to the ER.  DW drove over there to stay with the Queen.  Please pray for him.  Thanks.  Pray for her too.  She has to work tomorrow. Sometimes I don't know how she does it.

Hope he feels better soon, my best friends son gets it all the time

Tell me, what is an ideal 236 Leghorn?
Honestly- I'm pretty new at this chicken stuff (under 1 year) and haven't heard of a few of those breeds, but a quick google search pulls up a few different sources and I guess it's just a variety of white leghorn developed by Ideal Hatchery....? I see a few positive reviews on them and they are excellent producers of lg to xl white eggs....

We were all new at this once, every journey begins with one step ;).

Every leghorn I have had is a great producer of lg to xl white eggs. I think it may be a sales pitch for Ideal, but good for them.

I have raised about 1/2 of those varieties at one time or another (you have to kiss a few frogs :p ). If I can help you with some info I would be happy to share my experiences with them. My favorite breed to date are cochins <3.

I have a 2 lilac trees. One is a light purple and the bigger one is more medium purple. They sprouts babies all the time. I usually end up pulling them out. I can see if I can sucessufully save some and I'll bring them to the picnic. Have never tried, but there is a first time for everything!

I would love some lilacs the more the better. Thank you for trying

Due to the new Rooster in my set up .... I will have Salmon Faveroll hatching eggs for sale ... BUT only 6 or 7 eggs to sell - so only one person can get these.

The mom is pleasant, big, and has the basic coloring and muff and beard - her beard is on the small and puffy side - so I could not call her a show bird - but she is lovely and healthy.

The dad is just so typical - you could google any Fav roo pic ....

Price is just $1 per egg. They will go into the breeding pen together today.

IF I were to keep Leghorns, I'd go with Brown for two reasons. One they're camoflaged against predators and two they're pretty. However I also do not keep Leghorns because they are hyper birds and generally not a friendly breed.

I also would find a nice Heritage line to keep. These, BR's and RIR's come in two variety. Production and Heritage. Heritage should be bigger and heavier.

I think it's worth mentioning that Tab and Travis are hosting, so be sure there will be plenty of space if you intend to bring a boat load of chicks/chickens. I'd also suggest only bring what you have presold.
