2014 Stockton CA pre-sale

I am very interested in one of your pullets. I have a small flock of 2 (Rhode Island and Bantam) about 4 months and I would like to introduce another hen around that same age asap. You have any available still? Thank you :)

The show was great! SO many beautiful birds there! I came home with four birds (had to have self control) and I enjoyed looking at all the booths! I am already looking forward to next year!

Very nice birds! I came home with a BBRed OEGB cockerel I purchase from Sue and Alan. Even though he wasn't dubbed, he was very tame. Big plans for the little fella! Thanks Sue and Alan!

Here is a picture of him on the ride back home!

He's so handsome! We saw him there as well and considered taking him home too, as we have three OEGB BBR hens, but it was just too crowded for us to stop at that time. I liked seeing his comb in the natural state. As I recall his looked very good, with no blackness on any of the points. One seller told me that the tail of the OEGB shrink as they get old. Don't know if that's correct, but I thought it was an interesting thought.

I saw him too! Considered purchasing him, but since I would have wanted to show him he needed to be dubbed, and I don't think I could ever do that!

Just an FYI. I got two old English bantams, a frizzle and a silkie. All but the silkie have scaly legs. Just a reminder to check and treat your birds before introducing into your flock. Unfortunately the bantams are for 4h and probably will be disqualified. Just thought I'd give some advice. It was so crazy at the Stockton show, i just got what i could and left. Didnt bother checking their feet.

Darcy0502 I think you can treat those scaly legs with a good rub down of olive oil a couple times a week.  Maybe others have more experience with it than I but I don't think its very hard to get them to slough off those old raised scales.  Then you can show in 4H without worrying about it.

Yup totally curable and remember older birds get raised scales as well!
