So tiny and adorable!!
Congrats!!! They are adorable! I can actually see the reddish colored one.Happy to say the 5 chicks that hatched last night are all doing great. eating, drinking and walking around. So tiny! I found out the roo is a Rhode Island Red and the Hen is a polish. Can't tell much from the picture but there is one that is a deep red/brown color and the others are blk/white with some silver or yellow. The fuzz on the top of their heads looks like it will be the polish "mohawk" look. Got three more eggs that are due any time, been rockin and rollin a bit in the bator. Then I have 3 more brown eggs that are due this weekend. One is polish roo and hen is golden color. The other two have RIR roo and ? hen... I love surprises... Since this is my first time if anyone sees anything in the picture I should focus on let me know. Way too early to tell if any are male but I really hope I get a group of girls. I am so tired, this hatching business is tiring, lol![]()
Update: so my broody hen hatched 3 chicks during the night/early morning. She is fond of the bantam however... She killed the 2 barred rock chicks. AGAIN!!!! what is going on here??? Why is she so against these poor helpless babes? Why set for 21 days just to murder her young? Now,they aren't really hers, but neither are the bantams!!!!! Needless to say,I stole her remaining hen eggs. I'm hatching them. Hopefully......![]()
