2015 breeding season

Today at 7:30 PM I put 6 peafowl eggs into the incubator. They are from April 7th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, and 13th.

I am monitoring the incubator temp right now. It went down a few degrees when I opened it. I think I have it set to 98 deg F is that a good temp to keep it at?

That's fine, I usually keep my incubator at 100 degrees

I was trying to get it to 100, but I figured it is close enough. Thanks! ;)

If it's forced air (has fan), I think you'll find that most people shoot for 99.5 to 100, so 98 is way too low. If it's a still air (no fan) pretty sure those should be set at 102. Best to double check with someone more experienced just to be sure.

It isn't forced air. I will get it up to 100 then.

I set mine at 100.5 anything below 100 will cause problems IMO

I agree, I noticed last night that my Hatchcraft incubator was reading 99.5 at the readout but only 98.8 on the bottom rack. I candled out three more on day 13, now down to eight of 13.

Moved them to the Sportsman where I have better hatch rates and better humidity control. The Sportsman is much better at keeping them right at 100*

from top to bottom I often get a degree temp variation sometimes, it does not seem to matter much at hatch. 98-101 your all good for the most part.
