2015 breeding season

Oh, look what I found! The first peachick of the year. It is from my Purple Black Shoulder (Spaulding) x Cameo (probably) there are also one Purple BS hen and an IBBS hen in there too, but I don't think they are laying yet.
It made it out on its own but took some time doing it, so I made it some nice little shoes.

Black Shoulder, I presume? Congrats!

That's because I was told by Minx in her post, to PM him and I did, he replied in a PM. Because it is a PM (Private) I am obligated to keep it that way, however I thought it would be fine to let inquiring minds know that the info was available to the general public in other threads.
I read that i was just funnen cause we don't have secret here for the most part LOL and i remember reading something about shipped eggs and detached air cells but sense i never received shipped eggs it did not sink in

If I remember what my unofficial mentor taught me, it should be an IBBS hen from that pairing. I am a little unclear how to insert the Cameo mothers part in the nomenclature. The ring on a string also says it is a female. Her name is Lillian after the lady that ordered the first three chicks.

If Dad is Purple BS Spaulding and Mom is probably Cameo(barred wing correct?) then if Lillian is a BS it means her Cameo Mom is split BS. Remember you need a BS gene from each parent to get a BS offspring. If Lillian is truly a "She" then she will be a Purple BS spaulding split Cameo, if she is a "He" he will be IBBS split Cameo or split Purple or split to both Cameo & Purple.

I swear I am like watering a rock, ok, a soft rock.

BS + BS = BS

Last year, Elvis, my IBBS cock proved to be split Cameo because he threw at least two Cameo BS (Oaten) cocks with the Cameo hens he was paired with. So we may have found the hen, (mother) of those chicks. Well, she is one of the three in that pen, of course all of those hens COULD be split BS. Like I have said before, they don't look like the normal Cameos I see posted.

I candled my third batch of eggs last night, all 15 were developing!

Even the perch bomb I had to glue!

I am still using the Tek-trol to sanitize the eggs, I really think it helps.

edited to add...since they are starting to mate...how long before they pass their first egg

Unofficial mentor? Are they available 24-7? Do they like wine for hatch-a-longs?
