2015 breeding season

It's day 25 and I played some peachick videos for the egg to help encourage the peachick out. Either today or yesterday morning I walked in and heard it peep, but it has been silent since. I am getting a little antsy waiting but I am not as worried as I normally am when I try hatching eggs. I guess I have finally come to except that things happen such as eggs not developing and peachicks dying or needing peachick shoes, etc is just how it goes and worrying about it won't help.

I keep thinking I see the egg move slightly, but I think in lockdown I always "see" eggs moving when they really aren't. So unless if the egg is really rocking I am very doubtful if I am actually seeing movement.

I am about to go check on the egg again. If only it would pip and then I would be a little less concerned.

Haha true Zaz I just want it to be over!

If it did pip I would probably have trouble sleeping. I could always get the sleeping bag and sleep next to the incubator.

I can't tell if I am hearing it tapping on the egg or if that is just my incubator making noises because I know the incubator makes noises like that sometimes.

Wing bands works well if installed right. I have birds now 6?-7? years old that was my first guinea pigs for banding. Once in awhile the band will not bend over correctly after it goes thru the wing and it's just as easy then to replace it,as to think it will stay in, then have to replace it later on because it will come out. I order two sets of identical numbers and put one in each wing just in case one does come out. I also keep records each year of the band numbers and the type of pea it was put on.

My friend hatched a peachick, the egg came from a pen with a pair of green peafowl and india blue peahen, so i'm wondering if the egg came from the green peahen or the blue hen?!
