2015 breeding season

The peafowl I have that are raised by peahens are actually some of my friendliest peafowl. One hen was friendly and the other was not as much, but the offspring turned out great.

Good to know- maybe its when I've separated them from their mother and re-homed them, that they've gotten skittish. I plan on keeping a couple of my chicks this year- so I'll see how it goes. Thanks

By the time we got back with the Pedialyte and vitamins it had expired.

Odd thing is I have another egg that should have hatched from the same batch.  I candled them before I tossed them and could not decide if this one was dead for sure.  I opened it up and sure enough it is breathing and moving, but I am not sure I want to try to 'help' it.

Well, what did you decide? For the record, I have saved a lot of chicks, it's not always such a heartbreak. But I do normally let them live or die after I help them, I mean if they are strong enough afterwards to start eating on their own, etc. sorry we lost the little guy. :(. That was a Lot of work and no reward :(

Sorry you lost him. I missed this update with all the egg binding issues I've been dealing with.

I didn't want to go through the effort again so soon since it was not moving as much as the first one I thought that it had less of a chance so I let it go.

My peahen Sage didn't lay her egg she was suppose to lay yesterday. Could she be egg bound. She seems normal, eating drinking, flying, running everything. I hope she's not egg bound. Could she have just stopped since we've been getting so many rain storms lately or just done laying?
