I am sure I will feel I should have picked another once I read others..

My best moment was my 4th granddaughter being born, I wanted another grandson but I really do not care I just want to collect grandkids!

The worst moment was the CMA awards show. They were honoring Shania Twain. I have always thought she was the sexiest, best sounding female singer in the world. My wife complains I have had a long time crush on Shania. When she was accepting the award she spoke, this may seem odd, but it is the first time I have ever heard her talk. She is always singing when I hear her.

Her voice was terrible, it shattered my crush, her speaking voice was the combination of a cartoon voice and fingernails on the blackboard. This could be the worst moment it 3 decades!

I'm game Ralphie (even though I'll probably think of other answers right after I click the Submit button).

Worst event of 2016
Having to give up my beautiful flock in FL to move to WY. I loved those chickens, it was so hard to round them up one last time and hand them over to their new owners. I still miss them even now. I was fortunate enough to find them an excellent home with some great people...but...

Best moment of 2016
DH had to move to WY ahead of me to start his new job. I had to stay behind in FL to pack the house, get it sold, etc. We were apart for 3 weeks, the longest separation between us we'd ever had. At the end of my cross-country drive, he was waiting just outside town in the median flagging me down, jumping up and down...seeing him after 3 long weeks was the best. The very best!

Oh my word, Ralphie....nothing like choosing to start a thread that would ask these questions! I'll change my mind a hunnert and eleventy times!!

Best moment? The (eventually!) successful abdominal surgery to re-route Kendra's plumbing! It was a tough haul and we were mighty discouraged with all the setbacks for the first 3 months. But there are so many ways when growing up with Spina Bifida that her dignity can be dented....at least bowel and bladder control will not be two of them!

Worst moment? Waking up in the coronary care unit in February, not knowing if I was facing bypass or not.

Poor Ralphie! Your turn to not be impressed, eh?

My worst moment was probably the phone call telling me my 83-year-old mother had fallen and shattered her right arm. She has tried to downplay it (yeah, right, like that's possible) but I know it has cost her terribly in things like independence and self-confidence. That was back in the summer, and it still hasn't completely healed.

My best moment seems like such a little thing, but it sure made me proud at the time. It was walking in the Burgaw Christmas parade behind BB2K (my daughter), who was leading our 10-hand pony Syd (oversized miniature horse, actually). Syd walked quietly beside her like she has done this sort of thing every day of her life. Only we know just how much work has gone into getting wig-out-first-ask-questions-later-Syd to that point; both the horse and her handler have grown so much in the last couple of years. It's a parade, you're supposed to be smiling; for me, that took no effort at all . . . .

Ralphie, thanks for starting this thread...I'm really enjoying it, so touching to hear these memories.

Youi welcome , it does not seem to be getting a lot of takers... BTW I was gone did you miss me?

When...I mean, yes, terribly!

I was gone for a while too. DH and I just wrapped up a game of Scrabble. I whooped him!

(I'm doing fowl-related here; there have been many other spectacular and depressing things this year ;))
Best moment: my first hatch. Seeing that first little baby pop out of the egg was just amazing. I was hooked right then and there... so many things about hatching are just plain enjoyable.

Worst moment: opening the coop up to find my beautiful duckies dead on the floor.

Best moment ~ Charlie and his shooting achievements :D His first fox in the bag and him successfully getting his own shotgun certificate. (Oops that's 2)
I'm very proud of him and how he has grown and matured over the last year.

Worst moment ~ Family members passing away :(
