Quote: Hi...I am so sorry for your loss of your beloved ROO. Nobody should have loss of loved ones.
I have an issue with bobcats and hawks. I was seeing them before i got my 4 ladies so for 70.00 i bought a ''garden'' electric fence. it is 24 inches tall but you can use your own poles to make it higher.
i set my wires at 8 inches 18 inches and 24 inches. my mom helped set it up and it does work. it is the type to deter pets from going in gardens and lists dogs, raccoons, opossoms squirls and armidillos on the box.
I in advertantly was zapped the other day when i thought the fence was turned off. it feels more like a heavy pulse of 'soft' electricity which entered lowwer leg and exited or died off near my hip. kind of like a tenze unit to control pain from injurys.
these are NOT lethal or DAMAGING fences, not prison fences nor are they voltages used for livestock or horses.
I think that if you go to
amazon or
ebay ,where i got mine, you will have success in repeling the attackers.

plus this which works with all electric fencing and will add length...

Dont be alarmed by reading the statement 'up to 4 miles' which is the very maximum that the small current will travel before dying out.
they even sell chicken fencing which is safe for chickens and is more of a free range boarder. my hens are in a 6x12x6 run with a coop inside of that.
Also available are additional rolls of the tape or wire fence. i bought additional roll because i wanted a third string around the run. i also put several over the top in case hawks made an attempt.
all of the wire is 24 inches away from my run. closer and i think that closer and the chance of attack might still be there. for a dog or coyote., i think i would put the distance at least 1/2 the length of the animal because if they went through the fence they still would get zapped and thus scared and forget their first intention.
I really hope this info helps you and please dont be scared of the electric unit.
you plug it into the wall outlet and it had a red light that tells you it is working.
great luck and hope to hear of your progress,
