2016 Gosling Hatch-a-long

Hi everyone! I don't have geese yet but I just set 12 saddleback Sebastopol eggs. I am too early for the Easter hatch so I hope you'll have me : ). I weighed all my eggs, I have never had a decent scale before, so it will be fun to keep track. They are in the cabinet incubator I built for my duck eggs, with 2 fans and the temp looks good. I have been a little obsessed with Sebastopols for a while but couldn't find any local eggs last year. I am pretty excited!

Update from snowy Utah. We have started working on our pens and should have our breeders separated in the next week or two. Getting ready to buy the genesis 1588 and should start seeing eggs in 2-3 weeks. Hope to set my first group of white African eggs before the end of the month, then do a round of buff dewlap eggs a few weeks later. I'm excited.

Hey miss Lydia and janet! Long time no talk! I went through some personal stuff last summer and as my geese, most of my birds actually. But I'm ready to start again! I've ordered an adult pair of Oregon mini frillback geese from holderreads. They should be here this month, so hoping they settle in and possibly may a few eggs. Hoping I can join in hatching with you all! :)

Hi @JulieNKC great to see you back. Look forward to seeing your new geese.

Hey Julie! Great to see you again! Sorry to hear you had a bad summer, but look forward to chatting on this thread and seeing you build your flock back up again. Can't wait to see pics of your new pair of geese when you get them.

Hard to believe laying season has started. My friend who lives in the valley has been getting eggs for a couple of weeks now and has one girl who has started sitting. My early laying girls are looking to set up nests, but no eggs yet. The earliest I've seen eggs at my place is Feb 14th, so it won't be long here. Still working on setting up my breeding pens. At least we have good weather this week to get it done.
