2016 Gosling Hatch-a-long

When did you do the hole? Before putting them into lock down? After internal pip? The article didn't really specify other than "candle to make sure you don't hit the gosling".

After the internal pip, I waited 12 hours and put a TINY hole in each air cell and raised the humidity a tiny bit so they wouldn't shrink wrap

Thank you!

2 Goslings out of the 2 I set am happy with my first time hatching geese 4 more in the bator now all with different hatch dates.

Since one of my brown african females stopped laying (for some reason) I have decided I will put in my 7 African eggs in the incubator tonight.
I will then keep collecting their eggs until I have all fertile eggs in the incubator by replacing any infertile ones :)

In the incubator.
Found a mystery egg outside the breeding pen so I popped it in too making it in total 8 eggs which are due to hatch on the 9th of April ;)

I know it's still early in the season, but I'm getting excited seeing everyone else hatch babies. It won't be long before my bator is fired up. Looking forward to yellow fuzzy babies, especially since I've never hatched a white gosling before.

The only down side to the yellow fuzzies is no gray patches on their backs like the other white breeds. So it's a gender guessing game, unless you can sex them, which I can't/won't. They are still adorable and makes the waiting well worth it.
