Wow that is for sure. Hopefully she won't think she is suppose to brood on eggs in November. Will do. My buff dewlap laid a 2nd egg yesterday and is acting like it is March. So very weird!

J your a gluten for punishment probably all 14 will hatch. LOLWe received our first decent snowfall of the year, and my buff dewlaps are in full breeding mode. I cannot imagine any eggs being fertile, especially since most have been sitting in below freezing temps in nests, but I gathered up 14 eggs and fired up my bator. If by chance some develop, they will be xmas babies. Simply crazy.
Hey serv, your going to have to show some pics of your young ganders.. I am seeing my gander Sam's personality begin to change. and Missy was inside the duck house looking around. Aren't they funny. We're having weird weather also over here in Ireland after a usually dry October with dry freezing weather for November. We normally have very wet mild weather. But I like this weather!
My young ganders are doing mating signals at a very early age. They are the largest African ganders I ever had also. It's the buff gene that might be the reason they're this big.
My females are acting normal but testy with each other.
Yes I will on Wednesday when I've the time.
I've got one gander and one female buff growing a dewlap in their first year. Usually it grows at 18 months so they've the good breeding genes![]()
Love the way the youngest and smallest of all the goslings turned out to be the largest.
He's the biggest gosling I bred myself so far. Called him "Oh wise slender one" when he was 2 weeks so I guess he has a name haha
Pics will come soon!![]()
