2018 Hatchalong

Pics
I now have 26 quail eggs sitting on the counter with no tray in sight! What can i do? We are very limited on money right now so it's not like we can just go buy an egg tray for the incubator...
My last batch of quail eggs the turning tray quit half way through. I just rolled them with my hand once a day. They hatched totally fine. You probably really don't need a tray (i'm not going to buy a new one) but ask over on the quail forum.

The thing though is that the "floor" is NOT solid, it has bars that the eggs rest on with an automatic turner that turns them, perfect for geese or chicken eggs, but there's nowhere to even set down the eggs

Candle and toss any eggs that are not clearly developing to make room for new eggs.

9 days away from hatch date for first set of 8 eggs, which are split between two broody geese. Also have my final dewlap set of 8 eggs on day 6 in my bator, then 2018 hatching season will be over for our geese. Really hoping to add a few dewlap babies to our flock.

In the meantime, totally unrelated to birds.... but pretty darn excited so am sharing. On Monday, we will be bringing home a pair of pigs we adopted yesterday from the local rescue. Please welcome Banjo and Mr. Rogers to our family.

Like i have more room, but this incubator is only for large eggs, there is too much space between the resting bars for the quail eggs, they would fall right through if i were to let go of them

Could you cut a piece of hardware cloth to fit on top of the rails and roll them by hand that way?

Servpolice here, trying to get my old account back!
A lot has happened since i last was on byc. I've got 16 African goslings hatched with 4 buff and 12 brown. One buff gosling is a mixed.

Grandmother of the gosling is a EmbdemXBrownAfrican and her mother is that mix above with a brown African with the buff genes(yes it sounds quite confusing). So I'm curious of how it will turn out since the gosling has like 85-90% african in her and it will be new blood for my buff african flock.
Hope you're all well and your birds!

Here are a few quick random pics
