2018 Hatchalong

Pics
Haven't raised goslings in ages. These two are still mostly laying down, not eating or drinking yet. Normal enough?

They don't start walking until about 24-36 hours after hatch and don't eat until they're 36 hours old. They will still have the yolk inside them which feeds them. My goslings refuse to drink until they are exactly a day old.

I was going to guess female, since females do better with lower temps and usually hatch later than males. Goslings usually do not eat until 2nd day. I sprinkle flockraiser crumble around area they spent most time, and place a super shallow dish like a ramekin or tupperware lid nearby for water.

Muscovy ducks are fun. They would be a great addition to your group! They are very calm and friendly, and it's crazy how well they hatch large clutches of babies.

They are ok then, staggering a few steps and an occasional sip of gro gel. Good news if both girls, now to find a gender! No easy task here though, they aren't common at all.

That's really interesting that females can hatch later.

I have flock raiser ready when they are. Thank you!

Shetland geese aren't a common goose breed. Never seen Shetland geese for sale or anything here in Ireland.

They are known to hatch many ducklings and are amazing parents. I also like the fact that they can fly haha
