I am so,so excited for spring! Winter (like every year) is going to suck, but I can't wait for spring. Getting supplies to make my batchlor cages (I need them taller for my standards than what I can buy premade and I'm not going to have 2 different types), and then I'm going to start separating males from the group late winter (probably early January) so the gals are cleared out by the time I start breeding.

Thought I lost Jezebel for a while yesterday. We've been losing birds at night and she was hiding most of the morning yesterday. She's fine though, so she might be laying

Gah, TSC was out of cage wire again
I need to start building cages, cause the dumor ones are too short for standards and I don't think I have it in me to buy another 10 anyways (Its like 80 bucks for one and a tray. That's a huge chunk of spending money).

So next weekend we're looking at Shiptons instead, cause I need to start so I have them if I have to split birds up, yet again.

Have you considered ordering wire online? (Whether that is practical would depend on wire cost, shipping cost, and how soon you need the wire.)

We had good luck getting hardware cloth ordered online for store pickup this spring. I forget which hardware store chain though.
