I've never hatched, but when I have baby chicks in the house, I constantly dream that they get out of their brooder and into my bed (through 2 closed doors)! I wake up yelling at my husband, "DON'T MOVE! YOU'LL CRUSH THEM!" The poor guy.

Chicken sleep terrors, man.

Congrats! You must be thrilled!

They'll be fine. Eggs get knocked around quite a bit when other chicks hatch. Early in development is when you have to worry when the veins and such are still fragile.

Thank you, I figured so... but i was still in a bit of a panic. Im a bit worried about positioning though, what if they pipped and its now underneath?! I thinkni had better just stay far away and not touch anything lol.
Is there an upper limit to the humidity during lockdown?

They'll likely get turned back over with all the comotion, or get rolled facing down again if you move them.

I keep my humidity pretty high until chicks hatch, then I open the vents a bit. As chicks hatch more moisture is released. There's a balance between letting chicks dry off and keeping pipped eggs from drying out. I add a bit of olive oil to the membrane (of pipped eggs) when/if I open the incubator to be safe.

I try not to go over 70% humidity, my viewing window on the machine can be quite steamy though.

I noticed during a winter hatch it's less of a problem when the heat is on in the house.

Hmm ok, 70% it is! Im nervous I may have cracked some when they tumbled.
