2021 Chick Order

Pics
Less than 12 hours...

Also got the grey coop fixed and reinforced. Debating if I want to move the same birds there again, only to move them a second time later, or keep them where they are for now, and then move them later where they'll belong, and just move my other group that will be in the coop permanently

I think I'm going to move the D'uccles and not move the Cochins twice over. The male is able to be moved to his cage as soon as I move the girls, so it might be easier on everyone to stay like they are now

Also think I accidentally got one of my mystery pullets broody. Just realized she's been sleeping on the floor for a few weeks and I haven't seen her running around with everyone for a while. Went to touch her and she puffed and growled. Might have more Ambrose Babies this winter

I got them! A blue satin, paint showgirl and a blue/black showgirl. The showgirls look about full grown, the satin is much smaller. She still has a baby voice though, so I'm hoping she has more growing to do. Otherwise she'll be smaller than Crow, my grey girl is.

I'll post pictures and names when I get home

Not the best pictures. They're sleeping in the basement over night because I need a lamp to help the satin adjust to the cold (they were in a pretty stable room in the breeder's building)

They're eating and drinking.

The satin still has a few baby fluff left on her feathers, and is about 2x the size of a coturnix. The other two are very large and nice feeling (maybe David's size, maybe larger?)

The satin also didn't want to pose for a picture, so I just have one of the showgirls

So we have Alexis and Moira (the black/blue and the paint respectively), and Rose is the little satin (like their last name in the show)

@ColtHandorf for the names they ended up getting, thanks for the help!

Little Rose seems to be doing a bit better. She definitely needed a heat lamp though and now that she's with the others and not in a separate crate, she's moving around much more.

I felt bad last night, she was all alone (Moira and Alexis were in a second crate so they didn't accidentally smush her) and she cried pretty much all night.

Alexis is throwing her weight around with Rose, but Moira doesn't really seem to care one way or the other so long as they have food, water and space. They're currently enjoying a 8x3 section of the shed right now so they can get some exercise and not be stuck in the carriers. I'll have to probably move them tonight after work still since I'm still battling with the doors not closing all the way yet.

Moira also is far friendlier than Alexis. They're all kinda spooky being on the groind while I'm walking (they were in leveled cages), but Moira let's me hold her when I catch her.

I think tomorrow I'll weigh Alexis and Moira and compare them to David. I really think they're at least the same size if not larger (for comparison, Crow and Cheese are definitely smaller than David and older than the showgirls)

Satin seemed to be far better tonight when I put the three back in the basement. Fullish crop (not hard packed with food, but not ballooned with only water either.) And as long as it stays full, she should do good with weight. Might need to just use crumble though. She might be having a hard time eating the pellets.

All three are sleeping together and Rose is silent now for about an hour now, nestled between the two larger birds.

Alexis seems to have stopped showing Rose her place when I went there, and the two showgirls were sticking close so that she could stick by one if she got cold.

Think Alexis has partridge in her background. I'm trying to get pictures but it's not wanting to show well, but she's got definite orange tufts along her bib, wings and sides.

Doing pedicures tomorrow. All 3 have poop balls on their nails. I just haven't had time today between school and work and getting the shed as ready as I could
