2022 Chick Order

My order is pretty mundane, but I won't care. They're breeds reputed to be friendly, and I'll have eggs coming out my ears the first year or two.

From Cackle, two of each: Black Australorp, Barred Rocks, Delawares, Buff orpies, and Speckled Sussex.

My experience with Australorps and Delawares has been entirely positive.

They want you to use a lamp instead of a plate? I prefer my plate and I have idea why it's any of their business. That seems weird.

I ordered my first chicks ever--due here in late April. We're currently finishing our coop--it's big, but one end has its own door and will be a sort of closet for garden tools. I have to ask, how did you get minimum 2 each breed? When I looked it was minimum 3. I like a diverse flock! Lots of singles and doubles ordered for me this year.

This year I ordered a Wyandotte assortment with plans of selling some. Now I’m all attached Do I reallllllllly need more than two per colour? Or even really one per colour??? We have two Colombian, 3 GLW, and 4 SLW

Holy crap! I wish I had the appropriate housing to make orders like that. I pretty much max out at 15 or so.

Oh that sounds so fun! Luckily my husband is pretty chill about them too. He’s even looking to add another order in because he saw a new colour lol. Not even a blink when I said I’d like to add more blue layer on with that
