21 Week pullet, laying soon?

Yes you could but some of us feed Flock Raiser (20%) , All Purpose (?), All Flock (18%) with Oyster Shells in a separate dish. Layer (16%) can be fed at 18wks however some prefer to go with the higher protein ... Laying is "hard work", my thinking is they need the extra protein cause of the energy it takes to lay, physiologically. Besides the above mentioned feeds can be fed to different ages, not having to switch feeds.

The calcium in layer isn't healthy for chicks & males, read causing liver damage, correct me if I'm wrong BYC.

They share space with 14 week old pullets and cockerels so unless my boys are all impossible to live with they'll need to stay on all flock. I'll get oyster shell picked up tomorrow.
