21 weeks and NO eggs yet.

I've got 4 hens: a Barred Rock, a RIR, a Buff Orpington, and a Black Australorp. They turned 21 weeks today. And they're USELESS!!!!

Do you suppose if I squeeeeze them, the eggs might drop out?

LOL... well alleyoops said she was going to try squeezing or putting an air hose in their beak and try to push them out... LOL... havent heard though wether or not it worked

Are you chickens free range? If they are you might want to watch and see where they go... maybe they are hiding them from you...
Mine are 20 1/2 weeks and I have at least one if not two hens of each breed I have laying... BO, BR, PR, RIR, LB... good luck... they will come.. .

I'll do you one better than that. I have one Buff Brahma who is going on 30 weeks old, yes, THIRTY WEEKS old, and has yet to lay her first egg. All the signs are there, but she is adamant that she's waiting till fall, LOL. My Lt. Brahma, on the other hand, same age, has been laying since 19 1/2 weeks old.

Ok, she made a liar out of me today. Caroline, my Buff Brahma, laid her first egg, finally! It's fertile, too-made pancakes with it.

I found the very first egg today as well. At first I thought it was a fake egg, perhaps compliments of my jokester hubby, but it is a medium-sized light green egg that I think is from my most "mature" Americauna. I am so EGGcited!! She even laid it in a nest box!! She is 20 weeks and 2 days old. I hope the others will start laying soon as well.

Mine are 19 weeks today and I can't wait for my eggs to start. I think 4 of the girls are real close to being ready.

4 others combs don't seem to be as big and red as the other 4. I've been watching them combs for the last month, lol.

And of course there is Tessy the "headless chicken" who is developmentally behind all of them. But DANG, she fly across the yard, upside down head, twisted neck and all!!

I've been working on the inside of the new coop trying to get things ready for them so I'm ready when they are!!!

You have all heavy breeds which can take up to 6 months to mature fully...They'll lay when THEY'RE ready not when WE say that they're ready.

Horsewishr, this worked for me and may be worth a try. Find the droplights/heating lamps you used when they were chicks and put some flood lights in them. Turn them on around 7:30pm and leave them on until 11pm.

Mine started laying the day after I did this, and I still get better production with the lights on than when I forget. The chickens actually run around until late as if it's daytime instead of hitting the roost early and snoozing.

Something about this makes mine lay and I'd give it a shot.
