glad to hear your chicks are ok. Mine are a few days old and are loving their cardboard box, exploring every corner. We have built an extension that they can access through an arch...its blocked off for now but in a week or so we'll open it up. My son has built a ledge/ramp and a perch in the extension so they'll have a bit of a playground! Really hoping they're girls! I have 2 ducklings due to hatch in a few days so they'll be part of the team soon.

I'm gonna try these mini loaf wrappers this time and see how they do about the "shell" mess and kinda keep them from squirming once hatched! Any advice?

The mess doesnt hurt the chicks or anything and the eggs bumping off each other a bit stimulate other eggs to hatch cheeping does the same thing though, at least the bator wont be to gruesome afterward
