22 Days and a Door!

It's been 22 long but wonderful days with little Haybale! (Accidental miracle baby incubated in an old bale of hay!)

Originally housed in a bird cage and soon placed in a modified storage tote.

The lid and sides are cut out, with netting stretched to create ventilation and a view to the outside. I recently added a side 'door' for added convenience, since Haybale likes to come in and out on his own.

He likes to hang out on top near the heat lamp, all stretched out so he can 'sunbathe'.

Haybale does not like Piper the budgie!

Haybale has made friends with Monty the conure.

Haybale is a welcome addition to the home, and he seems very happy! Look at that happy pose!

Haybale does very well in the house. He rarely goes to the bathroom outside the tote, he likes to chase the dog, he follows me around the house, and at night-
Okay, so he wakes me up PEEPEEPing at night. Then I have to let him nap with me before he settles back in.

I know I am coddling him a bit much, but he will be taking his first trip outside soon.

He's an ornery and special little guy.

Thank you! Haybale is doing great and there will be a couple pics for when he's outside. (Cats, dogs, hawks, etc... I am paranoid about putting him in danger. Trying to wait until he's a smidge bigger.)
