I have three beautiful cockerels I need to either rehome or (gulp) process them as I haven't the room for three roosters. I am offering each of them for $15 a piece, or best offer.

The 22 week old Black Ameraucana and Welsummer were hatched by my broody from eggs from BYC member Mrheinz77. The Welsummer has been crowing since he was 8 weeks old, the Ameraucana just found his crow a few days ago.

The 42 week old Partridge Silkie was hatched in my incubator from eggs from BYC member Cjexotic. I have trimmed his topknot to allow him to see better as he is the alpha rooster here - without trimming it was quite full and covered his eyes.

If you're interested and local, please contact me.
Thanks,
Bobbie

Where are you located? i am in King George Va, might be interested in your Partridge Silie :)

Hi we're by the base in the Dahlgren area. He's a great rooster. Shows the girls where the food is and sweet enough to pick up. He's not afraid to take on the big boys to keep them off his favorites :)

If you would rather have a younger cockerel, I also have six 10 week old Silkies that were broody hatched. They came from eBay hatched eggs, so unsure of their lineage. One had a vaulted head, the other five did not. All have very pretty colorings. I'm thinking there are four cockerels in that clutch, but can't know for sure their sex just yet, just guessing.

I would be interested in both, possibly? Would you be willing to get rid of any pullets? And how far are you away from the Walmart? I have five Bantams so far. I had my two silkies, which I adored. They were so sweet, let me clip their nails, and spray them for mites, not afraid at all. I am thinking about getting rid of some of my Batams and just having silkies. How much would you like for your cockerels, and pullets if you are willing to part with any? Also is the Silkie Rooster okay with other Roosters? I have one Bantam Rooster. I could seperate them is need be, just didnt know if he'd be okay in the same pin.

Hey Nikki-
Enjoy your new babies and Davy! I'm glad they found a good home. I'm praying that at least two of them are pullets. :)

All have found good new homes

Bobbieschicks,
Thank you so much for sweet Davey and the baby chicks. They are loving their new coop at the moment. I am pretty sure that the white one is a Rooster now, he keeps fighting with the brown one that you said you heard crowing. The black one and other brown one have not given me any signs of he or she...so we will have to see when they get a little older :) Sweet Davey has become a favorite to our family already. The kids are enjoying feeding him lots of treats. Last night when I put him in the pin the other big Bantam Rooster ran to "greet" him and he ran right between my legs and stayed lol. Since then they have been getting along pretty well, they tend to just ignore each other and go about their own business. I am going to have to weed out some of the younger roos though, they are over poplulating the shes lol. I am definetely keeping Davy and the white silkie. The other brown roo may be going to my Mom.. so he will have a good home. Thanks again for our new silkie family :) we look forward to spoiling them!

Good I'm glad everyone is getting on so well. The brown one who crowed I kept. But I do think that brown one with the red comb is a cockerel as well as the white one. I would be surprised if the other brown one were a cockerel as its small and has more of a puffy topknot. I'm still on the fence about the black one as it looks so much like my pullet did at that age. I do hope it's a pullet too.

Yeah Davy was hard to let go of he's such a good sweet rooster. I love his crow it's high pitch but strong. He's like having a small puppy around. He is great at finding treats for the girls. He's not afraid to mount any size girl. My lavender Orpington girls were his favorites because they hatched together. He would climb on them when they were lounging and try his best. It was funniest when Buffy stood up and walked away with Davy still positioning himself on her back. Lol!

I do have a friend who lives in Spotsylvania County with 10 acres of wooded land (with a coop now) and he is always looking for free roosters to free range his property and eat the ticks and other bugs. He may even be willing to pay for them, I usually just give them to him. His family treats them like pets and he only takes roosters. Just let me know if you want to send any of them to his bachelor place. :)

That would actually be great. i am looking at getting rid of all four of them. I was asking $20.00 for all but at this point I would take $10.00 for all of them. Knowing that they will go to a good place is worth the price cut :) If you would like to contact him and see if that works, just let me know the outcome. I let them free range alittle yesterday so the Silkies could get out of the coop and explore, they tend to stay in the coop more when the Bantams are in the pin so they don't bother them. They loved being out of the pin and eating all the bugs under all the leafs in the woods next to the pin. I would be very surprised if there were any left. I am just still alittle caution since I am still not 100% sure what was getting them so i only let them out when I know I will be out there to watch them.I know they would love to be on all the acreage and free to roam whenever they please :)
