She’s lethargic, refusing food, and doing the “I don’t feel well” hunch. Coccidia? I’ve been force-feeding and drenching with sovereign silver, yogurt, eggs, Coconut oil, and nutri-drench and thought maybe constipation as she’s squeaking when she poops. I’m fairly new and inexperienced with illnesses. She’s not egg bound - I’ve checked a couple of times. Thanks so much for any help!

I would definitely be starting Corid at the maximum dosage. Can you post any pictures of her vent? Has she laid eggs yet? Has anyone pecked her vent? Could you also insert a clean or gloved finger inside her vent just to feel for any stuck poop other obstruction?

So, I ran to TSC and got Corid and came home to a slightly perkier chicken. She’s not been pooping normally for a few days, but she just did the above within a 20 minute span. I haven’t examined internally today, but did the past couple of days. I do believe she’s laid one egg, but I think that’s all(at most). The oily appearance around her vent feathers is from coconut oil and Epsom salt soaks.

I’m a rookie at posting! I’m so sorry. I posted above with pics. She is up and moving around, which is an improvement over the previous few days.

It could be a malformed egg shell, not uncommon in new layers. Also could be a bit of lash material, which would indicate infection. Sometimes with coccidiosis there will be cecal involvement and that could be a cecal core from a coccidiosis infection. I would still go ahead and treat with the Corid, and keep an eye on her. The last couple of droppings, while not bloody, still do not look normal and I would still treat for coccidiosis.

I appreciate your response. Would you still go with severe dosing or moderate?
