24 hour bug ? ? ?

I had two grown Welsummer hens that got sick one evening this week. Watery eyes, droopy feathers, lethargic, would not eat. I isolated them, gave them food and water. The next morning (yesterday)I was trying to figure out how to treat them and what meds to buy. I went to check on them and they seemed fine. I put them back with the flock and I can't tell which ones were even sick.
I am just glad they are better but I do wonder what this could have been.

If you free range, I wonder if it could have been due to something they ate?

That is kinda what I am thinking. I was happily surprised when they recovered so quickly. Usually it goes the other way for me.
