24 Hours Large Pip Hole & Nothing

It sounds healthy to me! I usually take my ducklings out a couple of hours after hatching and put them straight into the place I have set up, but it's up to you. It's totally normal that the chick is sleepy. He's had a long and tiring past couple of days. Can we see a picture?

Ok. So I’m thinking “sticky chick” the two that came out last night have not fluffed like the first two and their feathers are like glue to their body 😭😖😢 and are having a hard time getting their bearings....what to do?

Yes. They are out and after wiping them gently with a warm cloth they have fluffed Er night under the lamp and are doing 1000% better. Oh my! I have LEARNED so much this first hatch! I put a cloth in the incubator to try to give traction for the hatched chicks and also to catch the goop. I believe this cloth held water after the first two hatched and that caused my humidity to go very high which contributed to the hatching issues for the next two. It’s a theory I have anyway. So much to learn. So then Is coconut oil ok to use on them to help get stickies off?? Didn’t know that was an option. Thanks for your help.

Yayy I'm so happy for you and the chick! Yes, you do really learn the most after actually hatching. Great ideas! If there is to much "sticky stuff" on the chicks I would either just leave it, it will come off by itself, or just dab it with a little bit of coconut oil. it's up to you. Your chickies sound like they are doing great and have a wonderful life ahead of them. Great job! :)
