Am I correct in reading that you intend to leave the first chicks that hatched in the incubator for more than 24 hours? That might cost some lives.. Of cause opening the incubator might as well, but I've read posts from people who open it every 6 hours or so, quickly remove all dry chicks, use a mister to spray all eggs to prevent drying out and then close again, apparently without ever getting shrink wraps.
You may not be an expert but you are absolutely correct with those statememts. As for misting them ill pass. Seeing as humidity levels are set to the level they are to prevent drowning and other issues like ability to breathe being affected because of too much moisture. pipping and inability to finish as well as beak being too far out after breaking that they cant pull back in to finish is an issue that I have heard is attributed to too much moisture. the eggs are not "solid" they allow moisture to pass through. Misting may cause water to directly hit the shell. Moisture can cause the birds to be too wet with fluids and weigh them down. mobility issues because of too much fluid in which case the cannot complete the break in the egg etc. I am not saying that to say that others are wrong or that i know more than them.
