Coldest weather the girls have been out in yet. Wasn't supposed to be below 30°, so I didn't worry. Light snow when I walked the pups this morning. Checked on the birds, their water was frozen! I went in and flled ir with warm in the kitchen, and four of my six were outside pecking around like it was nothing.. Brrrrr...

Chickens are pretty tough when it comes to colder temps...they have all those feathers to keep them warm. My flock doesn't especially care for the long snowy winters we have in Wyoming, but they've done well here.

You might want to invest in a heated waterer before next winter :)

You're a bit colder than me. It's 35F and snowing here. Kind of like a weird science fiction movie with all the green grass and flowers. The chickens are fine in this weather.

Agreed on the water heater! They went outside two weeks ago, and we've had a frost but normally don't have this kind of cold this late!
