25 From Welp

So, playing Name That Chick ...

The best match for the blues with the yellow wash seem to be Production Blues.

I have no clue on the red chick. Not being a fan of red chickens, I've never learned the subtle differences in the breeds and they all look alike to me.

I'll have to get a better look at the legs and feet of the black ones with the spots to figure out the color since my photos aren't clear on that -- something barred, I presume. Welp Marans don't have leg feathers. Barred Rocks. Dominiques. ???

The yellow ones with the stripey backs don't look like anything I can find.

I had a good look at the black ones' feet and they appear to be white. Welp Cuckoo Marans seem likely.

A couple of the blues seem to be distinctly lighter than the others. Lavenders, perhaps? Which would be Orpington, from Welp.

I really do not know about the yellow ones with black. They look more like the pictures of the Ancona chicks than anything else, but this was supposed to be a brown egg assortment. I've *wanted* Anconas, and they were on my substitute list, but I don't see the people pulling assorted chicks having my list in front of them and tossing some white layers into a brown egg assortment.

The photos of the Mottled Java chicks look more blotchy instead of this stripey-back with headspot pattern.

Gosh they are so cute. I love getting baby chicks. The chicks I got today were CX though so I try not to let my heart feel too full. They are only cute fluff butts for a couple of days anyways :(

I have not had Cornish X yet.

I have read here many times that they're rather personable so maintaining detatchment is important.
