28 wk old Barred Rock Broody?

My broody is very gentle and my pet. She will ruffle her feathers and make a bit of a growling noise if I check under her or take an egg, but never takes it farther than that. I'd go by whether she leaves the nest.

1 month later, she's still sitting in the nest box!!!

Though she hops from one nest box to another beside it from time to time. She hasn't layed any of her own eggs. If she goes out to grab a bite to eat and someone else jumps in to lay, she will go in the nest box next to the one she was in or sit on the eggs that got layed in her absence. She's still very nice and friendly and lets me reach under her to remove the fresh layed eggs daily.

I've debated whether or not to get some fertile eggs to place under her to hatch because she does leave the nest to sit in the other box.

Any advice appreciated. She's getting so light in weight.
