2nd Annual California State Fair BYC Meetup!

I wish we could make it! We are showing in the Stanislaus County fair. Our birds are still there. I'm all faired out! lol

I wish you could make it, too! It would be nice to finally get to meet you! I got my Olga from you last year in July. She has already hatched out TWO clutches of eggs/chicks and goes broody when the wind blows (must be the American game she gets from her father because she totally acts like a gamehen).

It turns out I am not going to be there this Sunday. I apologize for those who have rearranged their schedules to go, but hopefully you can all still go and meet up and have a good time!

ETA: I don't know if someone else wants to contact Rob about the GFM he generously offered as a door prize for the State Fair meetup. Perhaps someone else can pick up the ball on this one? It would be great if those still planning to go can do the prizes, etc.

The reason I can't go (a few people have developed attitude toward me about this, so I'm going to publicly humiliate myself here and tell my personal business just to get poor-attituded folk off my rear about this) is that I started a new job in July, was SUPPOSED to start in June, but they kept pushing back my start date and pushing it back. What it comes down to is it put us in a heckuva precarious financial position. I can either go to the fair, or pay my rent on the 1st, but I can't do both. Gee, do I want to spend an afternoon at the fair, or do I want to still have a place to live in 2 weeks? Well, I opted for housing rather than playing.

Now, those of you who have given me the snide remarks and the cold shoulder over this, I would appreciate a little understanding.

I don't see any reason why everybody else who was planning to go can't still meet up! Y'all need to still go and have a good time, meet up, make some friends, and have a good Sunday at the fair. All the poultry will be on display & maybe you can even meet some of the breeders and get your hands on some good heritage stock.
