Yay! Our young buff Bantam Cochin pullet, Pumpkin, is still broody and right now(after candling) some of the eggs, some have pipped the air bubble and we can see the beak moving around in the air bubble!
That was the last time we candled, just to see where they are, and then we have left the broody hen to take care of them since then. I don't know if any hatched yet...will call my dad today to find out. I have been at camp all week so I haven't been able to candle; my sister has been doing all the candling and giving me updates.
Also, while all this is happening, the eggs in our homemade incubator are around a week old. Some are a bit younger because we collected them at different times.
I hope Pumpkin is rewarded with her first ever family of chicks! She's so young to be a broody hen(well, pullet actually...) Crazy broodies!
