The next morning when Amatis woke, she noticed the sticky dried blood around Marcello's chest. "Marcello!" She exclaimed "What happened?!"

"There was a bit of an... incident, last night" He replied, stretching his stiff muscles.

Amatis frowned "Did you... not again Marcello!! Atticus said--"

"If I hadn't intervened, an innocent soul could have died." He inturrupted her.

Amatis sighed "Go get yourself cleaned up before that gets infected"

"Maybe you haven't noticed, but we are in the shadows. In our territory. It stops here." She retorted, sticking out one iron claw onto the spot where light started.
