Hello! My name is Kim and I have been a member of Backyard Chickens for several years now but never posted a new member greeting
Since I have used the forum as a crucial reference, I figured that I should do an intro!
I live in Richmond, Va. with my husband, 2 dogs, 2 cats and now 5 baby chicks. I have owned and operated a pet sitting company for the past 13yrs and feel incredibly privileged to spend my days with animal friends of all types!
Besides animals I am very into all aspects of nature and spend a lot of time hiking the river trails around Richmond. I also do a lot of DIY, particularly in the sustainability realm, and I've never met a craft that I didn't like
This is our 2nd go-round with urban chickens and boy have I missed having them around! We just received 5 little ladies last week (today is their 1wk birthday!) that include:
Splash Marans- Honey
Australorp- Eleanor
Olive Egger- Maude
Favaucana- Agatha
Amerecauna- Clara
All 5 girls have darling personalities and I couldn't be happier! Honey is having what appears to be a navel issue but I am determined to make sure that she heals and thrives!
Thanks for reading!
